Author Spotlight Interview
1. What do you feel will most likely capture your reader’s attention regarding your book?
Laura is a voluptuous young woman and it is evident very early in the story that in addition to being sensual she is honest, ambitious and hard working. The story moves quickly with meaningful action and dialogue.
2. What other books would you compare to your own story?
I believe that the story of Laura is unique; I did not draw from other sources but I am suggesting that it could be compared to The Passion of Ayn Rand. Laura Leah Fitzgerald shows the same sensuality and passion for life.
3. What inspired the title of your latest book?
The name “Laura” sounds sexy and poetic and she is a person full of “lust.”
4. Taken as a whole, what moral, social, or political questions does your story discuss?
I do not take a moral or political stand on incest, but it does exist and unfortunately we hear only about the cases where a young girl or boy is physically abused and/or emotionally traumatized. My stories are meant for entertainment but also to indicate that there are times when a sexual relationship between father and daughter or between mother and son can be rewarding.
If we believe that God created Adam and Eve and that we are all descended from those two, it is not an assumption to conclude that Cain mated with his sister. There must have been a lot more incest going on in the early days.
5. Artistically or literarily, were there any challenges creating your story’s dynamics?
I was originally taught in college about the introductory adverb clause, for example: When the bell rings, we will go. The comma is vitally important. The characters exist in my mind as real persons and I am doing my best to present them to the reader as I see them.
I’ve had trouble with proofreading but I think I’m getting better.
How far do you go with a sex scene? I chose to hold back nothing and be as graphic as possible. My stories include oral sex with the semen, analingus, ATMs and multiple partners. I always try to make the sex scenes connect to the storyline. There was a reason why Laura’s mother sanctioned her sexual encounters with her father.
6. How do you feel the cover highlights your story?
The cover shows Laura as beautiful in spite of being overweight. I describe her as having those extra pounds “in all the right places.” Her son J.R. is shown as a handsome body builder and the cover suggests the sensuality of both mother and son together as they are at the casino enjoying a break in their busy lives.
7. Share with us an interesting fact or moment in your book.
The football game in college. He is replacing the starting quarterback and he succeeds in dramatic fashion after all the added responsibility and pressure of the position. The whole story centers around his dream of becoming an Army officer. By being made a quarterback in a difficult situation with the team behind him he learns to become a leader of men in stressful situation.
8. What is your favorite part or scene in your book?
My favorite chapter is “Laura My Love.” When proofreading, it brought me to tears; but there is a happy ending.
9. What appeals to you most about writing for this genre?
There is something very intriguing and exciting about incest; it is like taking erotica to a higher level.
10. Is there a place readers can leave feedback or comments such as social media sites or email?
I am on Facebook under Erotica eBooks and my first pen name Henry Hank. My book list is there with a link to Lot’s Cave. I would love to get some ratings and comments.
I also have created a new blog to keep my readers informed. If you’re interested in finding my blog on WordPress the address is houstondcei.wordpress.com.
