Author’s Spotlight Interview

1. What do you feel will most likely capture your reader’s attention regarding your book?

I’d like to think the title would be the most captivating part of this book. However, being realistic I think the story’s theme will relate to readers most. At the heart of the story is an attempt to explore the controversial issue of same sex relationships. Many times, we only hear the argument from one side. I tried to deal with this issue in an erotica and fun way. Hopefully readers can enjoy the story, no matter what side of the argument they’re on.

2. What other books would you compare to your own story?

There really isn’t a book like this one, mainly because of the incestuous relationship. That being said, I was somewhat inspired by my experience reading Crush by Jane Futcher. The book is a wonderful story of a girl’s exploration into her sexuality. I’ve always found the two girls in that book had a different dynamic between them. Wanting to capture my own experiences with lesbian relationships and different dynamics, I kept thinking back to my first reading of Crush while writing my book.

3. What inspired the title of your latest book?

The title Kidnapped by Daddy is actually symbolic of quite a few things. At first, Emilie’s character is forbidden to see her girlfriend essentially trapped in the house. Later, her heart becomes ‘kidnapped’ by her father. Kidnapped by Daddy has another meaning, taking into account the entire story. Emilie’s character is immensely submissive, and often internalizes her experiences. The change that comes over Emilie really means she’s been kidnapped; she’s changed by the interactions with her father.

4. Taken as a whole, what moral, social, or political questions does your story discuss?

There are actually a few moral issues that the story discusses. At the heart, is the issue of what sexual acts a submissive female will feel most comfortable with. Not only that, but how a submissive sorts through their emotions and relationships. Emilie’s relationship with Allison also brings up the hot topic lesbian sex, and the corresponding religious issues. The reaction Emilie’s father has I think is really honest, and tries to debate the issues in a creative and light hearted way.

5. Artistically or literarily, were there any challenges creating your story’s dynamics?

Actually, there were quite a few challenges creating this story. The reaction that Emilie’s father has to her lesbian relationship is actually quite personal for many people. It can be tough separating between writing personal experiences and shouting viewpoints at readers. Being respectful of everyone involved on either side of the topic was tough to write. On the other hand, writing Emilie’s thoughts regarding submission, relationships, or even her sexual desires was quite fun. Sometimes challenges can be fun, other times they’re necessary for stories to continue.

6. How do you feel the cover highlights your story?

I really love this book’s cover. The girl is playful, sexy, and has this mischievous look to her eyes. What really surprised me were the bedroom colors that translated well into the overall image. All I suggested for the background was a gender neutral bedroom scene. I’m a color person, so the overall connectedness of the cover image really draws my attention. In the end, I think the cover truly highlights a mischievous girl who is comfortable with her sexuality.

7. Share with us an interesting fact or moment in your book.

One of the more interesting facts about this book is how close it details some of my personal fantasies. Before I started writing the story, I really wanted to capture my core fantasies. Once I compiled a list, I tried working it into a cohesive story. What’s really interesting is how the overall fantasies really connect and blend into the others.

8. What is your favorite part or scene in your book?

This story doesn’t have one particular scene that really stands out in my mind, I love the whole thing. Being forced to think about it, I’d have to say my favorite moment has to be the playful use of ice cubes Emilie’s father comes up with. The rest of the story, you’re reminded of Emilie’s experience every time she gets her father a drink. It’s playful, but readers can also easily relate to that feeling.

9. What appeals to you most about writing for this genre?

Incest is a genre that I keep writing for and it never grows tiresome. Some people get really upset by incestuous relationships. I’ve never been able to understand that, and I enjoy writing something that might change people’s opinion. Erotica in general is fun to write, a good story should be satisfying in a multitude of ways.

10. Is there a place readers can leave feedback or comments such as social media sites or email?

I always welcome feedback, especially from readers. If someone wants to leave feedback, there’s always a place to do so on my Lot’s Cave Author Page or usually a place to write a review directly wherever a book was purchased. As far as social media, readers can email or contact me directly at the following places:

Kidnapped by Daddy Excerpt

Hearing the ice cubes clinking in the glass, Emilie became extremely concerned by them. Her father had always had an unusual method to his punishments. Out of all his methods, the ones he found the most creative were the worst for Emilie. There was no way to anticipate what her father was about to do, and so she had to resign herself to her fate. “Be a good girl and sit down this time.” Nervous, Emilie just sat back down on the couch where she had started. Grateful to be sitting down, she found herself releasing the tension that had filled her body. Whether she liked it or not, her body couldn’t stay tense for long. The impression this gave her father, was exactly what he had hoped for. “That’s a good girl, you’re finally relaxing. Now why don’t you prop your legs up on the table?”

Usually, Emilie wasn’t allowed to prop her feet up on any of the furniture, and so she understood the command as part of her punishment. Had she done so any other time, there would have been a punishment probably similar to the one she was getting ready to endure. Gripping the edges of the couch to stable herself, Emilie propped her feet up on the table. Jeremey admired his daughter’s new position, as it gave him the perfect view. Her head was tilted back, exposing her neck and chest, all while her body was curled forward, revealing the tender flesh between her legs no matter how hard she fought to cover herself. “I…I don’t like this. Could we please just stop?” Emilie was surprised at just how words were, as if she actually didn’t mean them at all.

“No I cannot just stop, now spread your legs.” The command had a roughness to its tone, one between demanding and stern. Fearing the ramifications if she did not obey, Emilie began spreading her legs. To prove a point, her father began shaking his head. “Wider, I will not have you challenging me.” Blushing deep red again, Emilie spread her legs as wide as she found possible. Legs spread; sitting there on the couch Emilie had never felt so humiliated in her life. Unable to look away from Jeremey, Emilie couldn’t help but cringe when he made his way toward her. All he held was his empty glass of ice cubes, but it was enough to make Emilie fearful. “Please…just let me go…I’ll be good I promise.” Bending down in front of Emilie, Jeremey set the glass down on the table.

“Sweetheart, you know I can’t do that. You said it yourself…I have to punish you for what you did.” Not wanting to cry, Emilie just looked away from her father. Keeping her hands firmly on her knees, Emilie ensured she couldn’t even cringe. A part of her was accustomed to such feelings when it came to her father. There had always been the expectation that Emilie do as told, and so she did as asked. With the very real possibility of a harsh consequence otherwise, Emilie forced herself to look back to her father. “Yes, Sir.” Kissing his daughter’s cheek, Jeremey stood back up on his feet. Towering over his daughter, he picked up the glass dipping his fingers in the ice water. Running his now cold fingers up his daughter’s thigh, Jeremey found her trembling from the sensation.
